A Skier’s Journey – Crossing Home
The final episode of A Skier’s Journey – Crossing Home – follows Chad Sayers and Forrest Coots to British Columbia’s Coast Mountains for a reflective look at the idea of home. Life on the road ultimately points towards where one started and, for Coots, Sayers and Manley, the start is British Columbia.
Embarking on a three-week expedition, they boat, bushwack, ski and packraft the spine of the Coast Mountains. As they traverse the landscape immersed in its vast wilderness, a cast of characters ranging from Coast Mountain explorer, John Baldwin, to an elder from the Xeni Gwet’ First Nations reflect on the meaning of home. Both landscape and reflection offer plenty to inspire; it’s the best episode of the series.
It is important to acknowledge that Crossing Home was made with the blessing of and in cooperation with the Xeni Gwet’in First Nation’s Government, who granted us permission to transit through their territory and share their stories. We are grateful for their support.
