Moving Line – 1978 Ski Crossing of the Continental Divide

Black Mountain Productions Presents Moving Line
moving line ski film

Black Mountain Productions’ first documentary short, Moving Line, tells the story of the first crossing of Colorado by ski. In 1978, three adventurous skiers embarked on an extraordinary journey, starting in Durango, CO, and skiing a continuous line across the entire state, finishing near the Wyoming border. Moving Line explores the incredible 490-mile trek through Colorado’s rugged terrain and highlights the deep connections forged through the experience, between the skiers themselves, the breathtaking outdoors and the boundless self-expression that spending time in nature inspires.

Moving Line balances interviews with colorful artwork and stunning original photographs of the journey. Now in their seventies and eighties, the skier’s relive the experience and its impact on their lives, reminding us of the passion that mountains and outdoor experiences can ignite in all of us.

The result is a 30-minute documentary short that will inspire you to get outside, explore and create. Check out more of our hand-picked ski movies.
