Summer skiing on Mt. Hood – July Turns

It’s been quite a few years since I motivated to ski 12 months of the year but having a couple of aspiring backcountry skiers in the family offers new inspiration. The family recently set out for some Summer Skiing on Mt. Hood.

Turns are still easy pickin’ from the Timberline Lodge parking lodge, so we rallied up the climber’s trail and skinned up to the Palmer snowfield. Not bad for 7 and 11 years old. The circus that is Timberline in the summer offers plenty to watch while you wander up the hill.
